What is Chakradance™?

Chakradance, created by Natalie Southgate, is a unique fusion of movement, music, and visualizations designed to balance and heal the chakras.​​

The Core Elements of Chakradance:

1.   Spontaneous Movement: Participants engage in free-form dance, allowing their bodies to move naturally and intuitively.

2.   Music: Each chakra is associated with specific music that resonates with its energy, helping to activate and balance it.

3.   Guided Meditation: Meditations and visualizations are used to deepen the experience, often involving imagery that corresponds to the chakra being focused on.

4.   Inner Exploration: The practice encourages a journey inward, where participants may experience insights, emotions, and healing.

5.   Holistic Healing: Combining elements of Jungian psychology, energy healing, and the mind-body-spirit connection, Chakradance aims to release buried emotions and trauma​

The Class Structure:

1.   The session typically begins in a dimly lit room to create a safe and introspective environment. Participants are encouraged to close their eyes or wear eye masks to focus inward.

2.   Each chakra is associated with specific music that resonates with its energy. Participants engage in spontaneous, free-form dance, allowing their bodies to move naturally and intuitively to the music.

3.   Throughout the session, guided meditation and visualizations help deepen the connection to each chakra. These visualizations often involve imagery that corresponds to the chakra being focused on, such as colors, symbols, or elements.

4.   As participants dance, they are encouraged to explore their inner world, experiencing emotions, memories, and insights that arise. This process can lead to the release of buried emotions and trauma.

5.   After dancing through all the chakras, there is a period of stillness and reflection. Participants engage in mandala drawing to integrate their experiences.

6.  The session often concludes with a sharing circle, where participants can express their experiences and insights. This helps to ground the experience and foster a sense of community.

Do I need any training?

No formal training is required to participate in a Chakradance™ class. These classes are designed to be accessible to everyone, regardless of their dance experience or background. The focus is on personal exploration and expression, so you can join a class and start experiencing the benefits right away.
